Are you ready to take part in more regular running? We’re here to help, with oppurtunities spread citywide. Does any of this tickle your fancy?

5k to 10k Programmes

We also have events for those of you intending on turning the casual, social running of a Couch to 5k or Great Run Local into something slightly more serious. Led by our fantastic, qualified Run Leaders, the 5k to 10k programme promises to push you to that next level of running, once 5k becomes no longer the challenge it once was. Upon completion of this programme, our Run Leader will help signpost you to your next running challenge, whether that is simply taking part in more Great Run Local’s, charity 10k events, or joining a local running group/athletics club.

For those of you who want to keep running, but are not interested in progressing to 10k, then this is the group for you. Run Leaders are still here to help motivate you and make sure you’re doing everything right, but there won’t be any pressure for you to progress.

Great Run Local

The Great Run Local is a weekly, free to enter 2k or 5k event which removes any potential barriers to taking part in physical activity. Whilst there will be regular runners taking part and chasing personal bests, the Great Run Local provides a great opportunity for someone to start running from scratch. This may mean parents pushing their prams round a 2k route, or a new runner alternately walking and jogging their way around a 5k course. The Great Run Local truly is inclusive of runners from all abilities.

If you’re not feeling quite confident enough to take part in your nearest Great Run Local just yet – don’t panic! Each event is designed to be located near a number of Couch to 5k schemes. This should prepare you adequately. However, it’s never too early to register for your FREE wristband.
